- Viruses for Android phone do exists and new & interesting bugs are seems to floating around every day.
- There is new malware reported by AVG, security company, comes with a trick which enables it to spy on you when you think your phone is off.
- Trick is to mimick the turn off the screen only, but phone itself is actually on.
- This malware actually hijacks the shutting down process. It hooks it self in the process and when user actually try to shut down his phone, it doesn't really shut down. Even they kept the all animation for shut down process intact so that user experience remains the same.
- So think it as when you shut down your phone and you think it is safely off, but it actually not. It can make outgoing calls, taking pictures, reading files and transfer the secure information on the internet and many more.
- Actually this is easy to hack the shut down functionality, to do so you just need the root permissions and need to injects system_server to hook into shutdown process.
